Can you say free!

On Sunday we were driving home from our picnic and I thought I spotted a free sign on our street. I made Josh turn around and sure enough I was right. I couldn't believe my eyes a little tike's slide! Now I have been looking for a used tike's slide f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Other then it having some dirt and minor sun fading it was in great condition. So I happily picked up my new slide and walked it home. We spent the rest of they day cleaning our new slide in the very last little bit of summer sun! It made my weekend.
The girls lovin their new slide...

What We've Been Doing...

This past week has been Josh's last week before he returns to school unfortunately! It seems as though we packed as much in as possible. First we celebrated Grandpa's, Aunt Jackie, and Sweet little Maddy's birthdays. Maddy's party was packed full of chocolate and the little girls were treated to having their finger nails painted. Alexis loved this for the rest of the week. She picked pink sparkle nail polish and showed it to everyone.

Sunday Carson and Holly joined the girls and I at the park. It was really neat to see Carson and Presley playing together.

In the evening Josh and I went the Oktoberfest in Silverton. We were treated to some good entertainment and Josh ate a very tasty sausage dog with kraut.

We went to the lake for a picnic. Alexis made some new friends, ducks!

Flashback Friday

This weekend is my niece's, sweet little Madison, third birthday. She brings so much excitement to our family and you never know what she'll pull out of her hat. This picture is of the first time we met this little Tasmanian devil.

Happy Birthday Madison

Summer beach trip

Friday we headed over to Depoe Bay for the night. I've been wanting to go overnight to the coast with the kids all summer and finally a bonus time slot opened up. So lucky us, we were able to get a two bedroom hotel room on a Friday night for around $80. We decided to have an itinerary since it seems we waste a lot of time trying to figure out what to do. This was helpful and made our trip a lot less stressful. When we first arrived Josh dropped me off to do some shopping and they headed to the beach. I was able to score great deals at the outlets which was a highlight for me. I love shopping! Alexis, Bruce, and Josh were able to relax and play in the sand with the sun shinning. I think the weather was just perfect. Not the usual Oregon beach weather at all. We ended the evening with a BBQ and a walk around the grounds of the Hotel. Presley slept through the night which was amazing! In the morning we had breakfast and all went for a swim. It was a nice way to start the day. Bruce treated us to lunch at the Sea Hag. Thank you Bruce! FYI the dessert menu doesn't have any prices! After strolling through some shops we headed for Newport and the Marine Hatfield Museum. Originally we had had reservations to go whale watching but there was a small craft advisory on the coast so the company had to cancel. It was very disappointing but there is always next time! Overall it was an amazing trip and I can't wait to go back!

butterflies

Butterflies, butterflies, & more butterflies! Alexis has had butterflies on her mind. She wants to be a pink butterfly for Halloween, have a butterfly 4Th birthday, and they are a large part of conversations lately. Lucky last night I saw that Old Navy just happens to have a pink butterfly costume. As for her birthday I think that a butterfly theme will go perfect for a picnic in the park 4Th birthday. Although I would rather have had lady bugs but this is not my birthday!
This mornings art project...

Peanuts 9 month pictures

Presley had her 9 month pictures taken yesterday at picture people. I thought they were so good that I entered her in the photo contest they are having. You can be the judge...

These are my favorite baby pics ever!

Little bugs at home...

The other day Alexis wanted to go to the library but unfortunately my allergies have been miserable. She really is missing all of the fantastic activities they have. Currently they are break which leaves all activities up to me! I brainstormed some bugs. I cut out caterpillars out of egg cartons, inserted pipe cleaners, glued white beans on, and she got her paints!

Here is what she came up with...
