The other day we were out at my in laws fixing our boat when I captured the sweetest thing! Grandpa was fixing a hole and Alexis just grabbed a shovel to help. I was amazed out how she just pitched in. My three year old is so nice and helpful, when she wants to be of course. Now really I should have done the same thing myself last summer when I nearly broke my ankle on that very same hole but that didn't seem to cross my mind. Thank you Grandpa and Alexis for fixing the hole.

Father Daughter Time
Monday Josh took Alexis fishing for the first time! They were sooo cute! She picked out a Dora fishing pole and talked about the fishing trip all weekend. It is so nice that she is old enough to go do fun activities with Daddy now. I made him take the camara to snap some pictures and thankfully he did. Unfortunatly they did not catch a fish but the plan on going again soon. Too cute!
Who Says Pinatas are Just for Kids?
On Sunday we were invited to a barbecue to celebrate our good friend Brady's birthday. I'm always excited to go to Brady and Chelsea's for anything because I know the food will be fantastic and of course it was. Chelsea always has to best ideas (she reminds me of Martha Stewart)when it comes to parties. She made Alexis' third birthday cupcakes. This time she thought it would be fun to do a pinata. Most people would think this was to entertain the six children that were there but it was for the adults! We did let the kiddos have a few turns. It was a blast, I can't remember the last time I have hit a pinata. Josh broke the hitting stick mid hit and it was Alexis' first time ever hitting one. I am looking forward to their next party!!!

Black Eye
Yesterday Presley was rolling around in the living room as usual and rolled into our ottoman. Of course she started crying but if you know our little peanut than crying is not that unusual. Our house is mostly baby proofed but of course kids can manage to get hurt no matter what you do. Her face looked fine so I thought she was just being dramatic. This morning when I woke up I noticed she has a black eye! I feel really bad but it does happen. So since there is no place in the baby book for 1st black eyes I had to blog about it!

My Baby is 6 months old!
Presley is 6 months old today! This makes me very sad. I love the baby stage and want her to stay little forever. Okay maybe not forever but longer then she is. The time is flying by soooo fast. It just seems like yesterday she was born and now she is six months old. What happened? I decided to weigh her using our scale at home and she weighed 19 pounds 4 ounces! Wow! She was fully clothed though and they are warm clothes! I would say its safe to say that she is healthy.
Iris Parade
On Saturday we decided to go to the Iris Parade in Keizer. Holly and Carson joined us, whats two more people when you can seat eight? It was exciting to see how much the parade had changed from when Holly and I used to go when we were little. The parade was so long after an hour and half we decided to take off. I had no idea that Keizer would put on a parade that would last that long. It was however Carson's and Presley's very first parade! Alexis throughly enjoyed running after candy and dancing to the music. I can't wait until next year when the babies are able to join in on the fun.

Picnic With My Girls
Today was such a nice day that Alexis and I decided to have a picnic at the park.I was being brave and thought why not walk. This is not so easy when your three year old is always trying to run the show. My little princess managed to not have any meltdowns while at the park! This is a huge accomplishment. A trip to the park used to always entail a screaming and crying Alexis. Luckily I had some left over cookies to bribe her back onto the stroller platform and make it back home with out a hitch.

Presley's 1st Taste at Real Food!
After another sleepless night Josh and I decided to give Presley rice cereal for the first time. I had wanted to wait for her to be six months old but decided to just give in. She will be six months old in six days so what the heck, right? Overall I was happy with how well she did. She did swallow some and of course a lot made it out of her mouth. I am happy to report that she did sleep 8 straight hours last night! It was worth giving in 6 days early.
