8 Months Already!
Today Presley is 8 months old. I can't believe that time has gone by so fast. She now has 2 teeth and can army crawl. The last 3 nights she has slept through the night. I am hoping this will now be her normal since shes not teething. Peas are her least favorite food with applesauce following in a close second. Her middle name should have been curious not Reece! She gets into everything and anything, I swear she has some sored of radar that lets her hone in on the most dangerous. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us!!!

Birthday Party
Today the girls and I went to a birthday party for a little girl we met at swim lessons. I was a little nervous about going since we really don't know them but decided to be brave and go. The party was at their house in lyons. Everything went smoothly thank goodness considering I was byself with people I hardly know in place I've never been before! How they did the party was very cute. It was in their backyard that had a large play sturcture, everyone brought a warpped book instead of presents and every kid recieved a book to take home. I just hope this doesn't confuse Alexis at other kids birthday partys. All together the whole party was only an hour and and half. I never relized how much time presents take, at this party there was a puppet show, pin the tale on the donkey, lunch, and playtime and was still shorter then any of Alexis' parties. So now that I have birthdays on the brain I have started losly planning my girls next birthdays. I am taking any ideas for a one year olds birthday in November. I'm stempped!

Presto the Magician
At story time today there was a magician! He was great with the kiddlets and even had the bunny. This was mine and Alexis' first time seeing one. His routine lasted 45 minutes and was very age appropriate for his audience.Alexis was entertained the whole time, Pres slept. Once again I m very impressed with all of the stuff you can do for free!

The ZOO!!!
Today we were brave enough to take advantage of the Oregon Zoo's two dollar Tuesday. I had originally planned for us to leave the house by 7am and needless to say that did not happen but we were on our way at 7:30am. Of course we hit traffic toward Portland, who would've thought?! Much to my surprise when we arrived at 9am we had our pick of places to park. Two years ago I made this same trip and it was a nightmare. Everything went very smoothly today. By lunch time we only had the elephants and the train left. By then it was getting hotter and busier.

Alexis loved the zebras and the petting zoo...

After lunch we all boarded the train and much to our surprise we went to Washington Park! They give you the option of getting off and catching a later train so we got off. We had no clue there was a Japanese rose garden and park right next to the zoo! The roses were so fantastic and fragrant.
Everyone was so happy to be on the train...

Taking time to smell the roses...

After spending an hour or so there we headed back on a train. The train ride back takes you around the backside of the elephants area. This area is huge and its not visible from inside the zoo to my knowledge. Alexis loved it! She was able to see the baby elephant and its family a lot better then if we were in the normal viewing area. By 3pm we had seen the whole zoo. The day was a blast and we only spent around $25! (That included parking, admission, ice cream for everyone, train rides, and zoo mug for Alexis)
Daddy and Alexis on the way back!

Water Park
Today the girls and I went to the water park with Holly and Carson. We didn't get there until 11:30am which turned out not to be as bad as I would have thought. The weather was not in our favor to say the least but our little Alexis didn't let that stop her from enjoying the fountains!

We were lucky to get one of the very few tables to eat our lunch and we didn't have to worry about getting a sun burn! The kiddlets mostly played on the play structure. By 2pm we were done and the sun was just starting to peak through. Hopefully we will have better luck next time!

Our 4th of July
I have been meaning to post some pics since Sunday but Presley has been cutting her first teeth :(. So I figure better late then never right? Anyways our 4th started out with the parade in Stayton. This was our first time ever attending and it was sooo much fun! We were able to enjoy it with Jeff and Jaclyn plus their kiddos, uncle Bruce, and Adam and Shaina plus their kiddos. It was nice to have company in Stayton! I plan on making the parade an annual event after seeing how fantastic it was. I love living in a small town!
After the parade when went to a friends for a BBQ that was super tasty and were off to watch the fireworks...
We can't wait until next year!

Camping at Silverfalls
Josh and Alexis mapping out our route...

Hiking around the falls...

We went camping at Silverfalls last Sunday night and it was Great! My smart husband rented a rustic cabin for our little family. The cabin made our trip doable with two small children. I was even able to bring my coffee pot! Alexis made some new friends with our neighbor's little girls and ate way too many marshmallows. We had a wonderful and relaxing time. Since we were so close to town Grandpa and Grandma were even able to join us for a wienie roast. Hopefully we will be able to make a family trip next summer with everyone.
