On Sunday we finally went to the Gilbert house. (Alexis received a gift certificate from the Tillamook Percy's for her birthday.) The day started out with a picnic at the waterfront park. Sushi and boats, very relaxing. We then headed over to the museum for an afternoon of fun and learning. This was Presley's 1st time at the Gilbert House, she enjoyed playing. Alexis loved the outdoor play area with its large slides. She is already asking when she can go back! Thank you Jeff, Jaclyn, Ben, Kennedy, Madison, & Wrigley for the fantastic gift!

On Saturday Josh took Alexis shooting and 4x4ing. Bruce fixed his truck so Josh had to go out with him. I thought it was so cute that he wanted to take Alexis for the day and who was I to protest. He took my camera along to snap some pics. Josh said Alexis loved the BIG TRUCK and covered her ears for the shooting. Very special daddy daughter time.

Today the girls and I went to say goodbye to my friend Anni. While at her moms farm Alexis was able to do one of her favorite things, feed the animals. We brought a bag of carrots which the animals love. Alexis had a blast and was even spit on by a donkey! We'll miss you Anni!!!

Crabbing in the Mook!

Last Saturday we traveled to the Mook to go crabbing. Surprisingly it was sunny! This is the first time I've been there and the sun decided to join the party. Jeff and Josh took the older kids out on the bay while Jaclyn and I kept the babies plus Madison. We enjoyed the afternoon of walking around town and swallowing some surprisingly good sandwiches from Safeway. Yes there happens to be shops in Tillamook! Who knew!! Since the town is so close to their house we were able to walk everywhere. After stopping by some garage sales we headed home to wait for the rest of gang to come back. Crabbing ended up being a bust but everyone had a good time anyways. The day was wrapped up with a BBQ. Hopefully we bring back some crab next time for sushi.

While getting on my camera this morning to upload pics of Pres I stumbled upon this pic of Miss Alexis and Daddy...

Aren't they so CUTE!

They took the picture and I was not even the slightest bit aware of it. Needless to say it made my heart smile!
I also had to post this sweet little pic of my darling three year old...

9 MONTHS!

Today our little Peanut is 9 MONTHS OLD! Wow time is flying by way too fast. She is now pulling herself up on everything.

Her latest fave food is blueberries. DA, DA, DA is all she babbles. Why is it never Ma, Ma first? DA, DA is already trying to recruit another BEARS fan.

I have a funny feeling she'll get some BEARS gear for her first birthday! Her baby car seat is being retired this weekend, unfortunately. Sleeping is a sore subject. Hopefully it will be better in month nine. She has cut three teeth and has a pesky fourth popping in and out. Doesn't that sound exciting! Presley loves going for rides in the stroller. I think it might be because she can keep up with her big sis!

Inspiration?

This evening I was reading Woman's Day waiting for the kiddos to fall asleep when I stumbled upon "simple inspiration". Every month on the last page there are random quotes from various people. While reading through them I found this one:

"A word to the wise ain't necessary. It's the stupid ones who need the advice." Bill Cosby

Now I know this wasn't the most profound quote on the page but it made me smile.

our weekend

This past weekend we had no plans? I usually hate not having anything to look forward to but it seemed to work out well for us this weekend. Friday I was able to help my friend Anni move the last of her belongings to her moms (she will be moving to Italy at the end of the month for a year :( . The best part was having time to myself without any tag alongs! Saturday I woke up and made one of Josh and Alexis' favorite breakfast biscuts and gravy. This made them very happy! After breakfast we went to the Saturday Market downtown. I have been wanting to go since it opened for the season months ago. Alexis and I found a beatiful basil plant for only a dollar. I can't wait to make homemade pesto sauce, yumo!

We then played at a park before heading home...

Saturday evening Josh went to watch a UFC fight at Brady's. He won 2 bets and lost 2 but I know he still had fun. It was so nice for the both of us to have alone time. Sunday we all went to church and relaxed at home. Overall I would say the weekend was a success.

FYI... Presley cut her third tooth last night & has started pulling herself up on anything and everything!

Flash back...

Since I copy my SIL with having a blog why not copy flashback Friday?

On Monday my MIL watched the kids in the afternoon so Josh and I could sneak up to the lake for a few hours. It was the first time we had been on our boat alone! The alone time was much overdue and the trip was so much fun. Here are some pics from our last alone trip to Vegas. I was so very pregnant and fat!

We also went to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam...

BAKING

The other day I when it was only 80 I decided to bake. I spent from 10am until 2:30pm with my oven! At the end of the baking session I had 2 spinach & mushroom quiches, 1 loaf of zucchini bread, 12 large zucchini muffins, 24 mini muffins, 3 jars of pureed carrots, and pureed roasted zucchini for Presley's lunch.

Yeah for Rain!!!

We have been dieing in the record heat! I'm so happy its raining today. Since our bedroom was closed off during the heat wave I was unable to blog about anything :( . Now that it has cooled down I can catch up. Hopefully I can remember everything!
